Profane, intensely metaphoric language somehow makes self-tortured monster Stark sympathetic and turns a simple story into a powerful noir thriller.

A Sandman Slim Novel : Kill the Dead by Richard Kadrey Review
I am not a big fan of novels that have zombies in them, but Kadrey makes the story palpable with more of his insightful writing. Angels are good and the Fallen are bad, right? Think again. Things are not always what they seem. In this novel (as well as the first in the series), Kadrey's ability to find humor in the most unlikely situations makes the book a real pleasure to read.
